SolaX Power performance guide

SolaX Power has improved significantly since 2020. Older X1 models (pre-2019) had higher-than-average failure rates, but the current X3 series and hybrid range have a better track record. They're competitively priced and popular in the UK residential market.

SolaX standard inverters come with a 5-year warranty, extendable to 10 years. The SolaX X3-Hybrid carries a 10-year warranty as standard. Always register your inverter on the SolaX cloud portal immediately after installation — unregistered units are not covered.

SolaX X3-Hybrid inverters are designed for battery integration with SolaX Triple Power (T-BAT) batteries. Standard X1 or X3 string inverters are not battery-compatible without a separate hybrid inverter — you can't simply add a battery to a basic string inverter.

SolaX systems use the SolaX cloud app (iOS/Android). Monitoring requires a WiFi pocket dongle or Ethernet connection to your inverter. If the app shows no data, check the dongle is seated correctly in the inverter's USB port and connected to your home network.

Common causes: grid disconnect (check your consumer unit), DC fuse failure, or inverter fault. Check the SolaX app for fault codes — a flashing red light usually indicates a DC or AC grid error. If no fault code appears, reset by switching off both AC and DC isolators for 5 minutes.

SolaX is not typically included on tier-1 inverter lists (which are less standardised than solar panels), but they are an established manufacturer with significant UK and European market share. Their post-2020 products are generally considered reliable at the price point.
